The Marching Eagles millennial
campaign was topped off November 11th at 8:00 pm when they performed
in the Bands of America Grand Nationals Finals for the first time in
the school's history. Bellbrook is only the second class 'A'
band to be afforded such an honor in the 25 years of BOA competition.
The band captured the Class 'A' Grand
Nationals title for the 5th time including top honors for Music,
Visual and General Effect. The dome was hushed as the finals
bands were announced, especially when the selection came down to the
12th and final band. After a heart-stopping wait, Chuck Henson
(the voice of BOA) announced "...
and our 12th band to perform in finals is --- THE BELLBROOK HIGH
SCHOOL MARCHING BAND ---".
The crowd cheered wildly as supporters from all over the Dayton area
joined with Bellbrook parents in congratulating the band on their
accomplishments.
The band drew first position for their
finals performance and did not disappoint the crowd or the judges with
their rendition of "Tyranny of the Clock". When it was
all over, the Marching Eagles were awarded
11th place with a score of 87.10.
In semi-finals, Bellbrook's score was 88.05.
Now, it's on to the Citrus Bowl Festival
where the Marching Eagles will perform "Tyranny of the
Clock" one more time!
