A Medieval Story of Kings, Knights and Magicians Music By Michael and Barbara Siler Class A Champion - 16th Place
Overall Once again, Mike and Barb Siler have teamed to produce original show music for the Marching Eagles. This year, The Once and Future King tells the story of King Arthur and the chivalry of the knights of the round table. The show music Of Legend, Love, and Battle was composed by Michael Siler with arrangement and score by Barbara Siler. Drill design was by Leon May and Marty Spitzer. Battery book was written by Mike Terranova with dance choreography by Mark Nash. The Eagles colorguard coordinator is Belynda Frieden with assistance from Rachel Kylie, Shelley Thomas and Scott Plumlee (weapons). Pit/Percussion director was Karen Pompei. Battery/Percussion assistants included Mike Terranova and Jim Speelman. This year's field commanders were Jana North, Ankit Punatar, and Laura Pirog. Colorguard captain was Andrea Minarcek. Soloists included Lindsey Gray (flute), Melissa Engimann, Monica Baumann, Emily Peck (Mellophone), Stephanie Thompson (dance), Andrea Minarcek (flag) and Jamie McGovern (sabre). King Arthur was portrayed by Arthur Barber, Lancelot was played by Levi Darrington and the boy king was portrayed by Jessie Spitzer. The Marching Eagles were named the Bands of America Grand Nationals Class A Champion for the fourth time at the RCA Dome on Saturday, November 13th. In addition to the class championship, the Eagles swept all caption awards and placed 16th overall in the group of 34 bands competing in semi-finals.
