Congratulations Marching Eagles
2004 BOA Grand
National Class AA Champions!!
The Bellbrook High School Marching Eagles competed
in the 2004 Bands of America Grand National Championships on November 4th -
6th. After two days of preliminary competition, including 93 bands from 40
states, the Bellbrook High School Marching Eagles were named a BOA SEMIFINALIST,
one of 34 bands that advanced. The band had an emotionally charged performance
at semifinals, leaving everything they had on the field. At the semifinals
awards ceremony the marching eagles were presented the class award for
Outstanding General Effect, and in the end were named the 2004 BOA Grand
National Class AA Champion. The band performed in a special exhibition
performance at the BOA Grand National Finals Saturday night and were received
well by the finals crowd.
This is the first Class AA National Championship
for the Marching Eagles since moving up a class in 2002. The band historically
has won six BOA Grand National Class 'A' Championships.
Congratulations to all of the performers and staff,
and thank you to all of the parents, boosters, and volunteers that helped make
this season a success!!!

"What is it like to be a winner?"
It's kind of like being a pumpkin. At band camp you were plucked from the
mess of the pumpkin patch and Mr. Carbone and Mrs. Siler and the staff
started by washing off the "dirt" of being a rookie - like not knowing the
music and sloppy marching.
Then your top is cut off and all the yucky stuff is taken out from inside
of you - like the seeds of doubt and the fear of failure.
Painfully then, pieces are carved out of you by marching grueling practices
and the endless "repetition, repetition, repetition...".
The result of all that messy, painful struggle is that a candle is placed
inside you, affirming your skill, accomplishment and good sportsmanship and
giving you the potential to shine.
Now you must light your candle by believing in yourself, being confident,
having faith and putting your best face forward and SHINE like a WINNER!
GOOD LUCK AT GRAND NATIONALS!!!
