About the Scrip Program
What is scrip?
Scrip is essentially gift certificates from national retailers purchased at face value from the Bellbrook Music Boosters. Scrip is identical to gift certificates you purchase directly from stores and is used in the same manner. Scrip is available for everyday expenses like groceries (Cub, Dot's), restaurants (Appleby's, BW3, Wendy's), gasoline (Shell, Speedway), books (Barnes and Noble, Borders), clothing (Kohl's, JCPenney, Lazarus), hardware (Lowe's, Home Depot) and other essentials. Scrip also makes great gifts!
Why buy scrip?
The Bellbrook Music Boosters can purchase the certificates at discounted prices. The difference between the face value and the discounted purchase price becomes profit for the Bellbrook Music Boosters. These profits provide funding for the Bellbrook Marching Eagles and other participating non-profit organizations affiliated with Sugarcreek Local Schools. Profits vary from 2% to 25% depending upon the retailer.
Example: If you purchased $100 in Cub Foods gift certificates, the Boosters would pay only $95 for the certificates. The actual value of the certificate is still $100 when redeemed in the store.
Scrip is a no cost way to support the Marching Eagles and your favorite school group (PTO, Athletic Boosters, individual sports teams, choirs, drama clubs, etc.). If you know of a group that would like to participate in this terrific fundraising program, please contact the scrip organizers listed at the bottom of this page.
How is the profit distributed?
How do I know what scrip is available?
A list of participating retailers is always available on the Great Lakes Scrip site. In addition, other items known as "bag sales" are available immediately every Thursday afternoon during regular scrip hours. These items are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. How do I purchase scrip?
Order scrip on Thursday afternoons (excluding holidays) from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. in the Bellbrook High School lobby near the auditorium. Order forms are available at that time.
Bag sales are available immediately, while supplies last. All other orders are generally available for pickup the following Thursday. Occasionally, particular scrip may be back ordered or out of stock from the scrip supplier and may not be available on the following Thursday. You will be contacted by the scrip organizers if this happens.
Orders must be prepaid by cash or check. Make checks payable to the Bellbrook Music Boosters Scrip Account. For bag sales, make sure the scrip you want is still available before writing your check!

Are there any special conditions?
Carefully read the information provided in the list of participating retailers and the bag sales list explaining any special conditions for a particular retailer. Participating retailers and discounts are subject to change without notice.
Retailers usually will not return large amounts of cash as change, so choose denominations carefully. Coupons may be used in conjunction with scrip. Generally, the gift certificates are good for at least one year.
Scrip purchases are not tax deductible. Scrip earnings have no cash value except to the Bellbrook Marching Eagles and the other participating non-profit organizations.
