Director Bios
Mr. Christopher R. Foster is the Director of Bands and Percussion at Bellbrook High School. Mr. Foster is the director of the Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, Jazz Band, Basketball Pep Band, Brass Choir, Concert Percussion Ensemble Class, Indoor Marching Percussion Ensemble, assists with the Symphony Band, teaches the 6th grade beginning french horn and trumpet students, assists with the Middle School Wind Ensemble, and teaches High School Music Appreciation. Since receiving his undergraduate in 1998 from Youngstown State University’s Dana School of Music with a Bachelor of Music in Education and a major in Trumpet, Mr. Foster has held positions at Warren Local High School, Crestview High School and a community youth band in Youngstown, Ohio called the Warren Junior Military Band. He was a guest conductor of the 2000 Columbiana All-Star Band, YSU Concert Band, River City Brass Ensemble, and the Lancomb County, PA Honors Band. Mr. Foster was also a member of the Smoot House Jazz Band from Parkersburg, WV holding the position of ‘jazz soloist chair’ on trumpet. He has also performed with world famous artists such as Eddie Daniels, Bobby Shew, Chuck Mangione, and the Air Force Band of Flight. On May 10, 2000, he received the honorary flag of the United States flown over the United States Capitol Building in his honor for “Inspiring Excellence in the Performing Arts”. Mr. Foster is a member of Ohio Music Educator’s Association and the National Bandmaster’s Association.
Mrs. Barbara Siler is the Assistant Director of Bands at Bellbrook High School, and also directs bands at Bellbrook Middle School, both secondary schools within the Sugarcreek Local Schools system. Mrs. Siler is the director of the high school Symphony Band and assists with the Wind Ensemble and Marching Band, and is also the director of the Clarinet Choir at BHS and the pit orchestras for musicals. In addition to her duties at the high school, Mrs. Siler teaches beginning band, Honors Wind Ensemble, and two Symphony Bands at the Middle School. She has been a music teacher in the Sugarcreek Local Schools since 1988. During this time, she has also taught elementary general music, middle school choir, and high school choir. Mrs. Siler is a graduate of Beavercreek High School. In 1986, Mrs. Siler received her Bachelor of Music degree in education from Wright State University, where she double majored in piano and clarinet and was recognized with Magna Cum Laude status. She continued her education at Wright State and graduated with a Master of Music degree in 1988 (4.0 honors), with an emphasis on clarinet and music education.
